Dr. Titus Schleyer
is Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Dental Informatics,
University of Pittsburgh, and Visiting Professor in the Department of Information
Science and Telecommunications at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Schleyer is
one of three recipients of a training grant for dental informatics from
the NLM/NIDCR. He is also Associate Editor for Informatics and Technology
with the Journal of the American Dental Association, and reviews informatics-related
manuscripts for many other journals. Dr. Schleyer holds DMD and PhD degrees from
the University of Frankfurt, Germany, and an MBA degree in Health Administration
from Temple University.
Dr.
Heiko Spallek is Assistant Professor at the Center for Dental Informatics,
University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. In addition, he is an
affiliated faculty member at the Center for Biomedical Informatics, University
of Pittsburgh. Dr. Spallek holds DMD and PhD degrees from the Humboldt University
Berlin (Charité). He graduated from Temple's Master of Science in
Business Administration program with a concentration in Computer and Information
Science. Dr. Spallek lectures frequently at national and international meetings
and has published numerous articles on subjects related to the Internet
and Web-based learning resources for dental professionals.
Dr. Gisela Spallek,
who earned a PhD in neuromorphology, is a physician trained in ophthalmology.
In addition, she holds an MSBA (Information Technology) degree from
Temple University, Philadelphia. Dr. Spallek has been working as a medical journalist
and has authored several books. Before joining S3 Web Technologies as managing
partner, she served as a Webmaster for various medical associations and
published in several journals on subjects related to the Internet and the
use of new media for health care professionals. Now, she supervises a team
of designers and programmers in the development and implementation of complex
Web projects.
